Preparing for Catholic marriage involves both spiritual formation and practical preparation. St. Brendan & St. George follows the marriage preparation requirements of the Diocese of Paterson along with our parish preparation process.
You do not need to have everything completed before contacting us. The first step is simply to begin the conversation.
Planning Your Wedding Date
Please contact the parish before making final or non-refundable wedding arrangements.
A requested wedding date is not considered confirmed until it has been approved by the parish and the availability of the church and clergy has been confirmed.
Getting Started
Beginning your marriage preparation is simple. Start with these three steps.
1Submit a Marriage Request
Complete our Marriage Request Form with your basic information and proposed wedding date.

After your request is received, you will begin the preparation process with a meeting with Fr. Jared.
Your individual preparation requirements and next steps will be discussed during this meeting.
3Begin Marriage Preparation
Couples complete marriage formation through both the Diocese of Paterson and our parish.
We will guide you through the process and explain each requirement as you move forward.
What Happens After We Meet?
You will receive a personalized explanation of the preparation process so you do not have to navigate everything on your own.

Wedding Costs
For couples who would like to review the current parish wedding offerings and stipends before beginning the process, the information is available below.

Church Offering — Parishioner $600Church Offering — Non-Parishioner $800Priest Stipend $300Organist / Musician Stipend $300Music: The $300 musician stipend applies when music is included in the wedding celebration, regardless of whether the parish musician is contracted to perform. Additional information regarding music and wedding arrangements will be discussed during the preparation process.Wedding Payments
