The death of someone we love brings many emotions and many decisions. Our parish staff is here to accompany your family as you prepare a Funeral Mass rooted in the Catholic faith, prayer, and our hope in the Resurrection.Planning a Funeral Mass
All Funeral Mass arrangements must be coordinated directly with the Parish Office.
Families, funeral directors, or representatives of the deceased should contact the parish office by telephone or email before making final arrangements for a Funeral Mass.
Our parish staff will work with the family and funeral home to confirm the availability of the church and clergy and will guide you through the planning of the Funeral Liturgy.
How to Begin

Contact the Parish Office by telephone or email to notify us of the death and begin coordinating the Funeral Mass.
2Review the Funeral Guide
Review our Funeral Guidelines & Handbook for information about the Catholic Funeral Rites, Scripture readings, music, and participation by family members.
3Plan the Liturgy
Complete the Funeral Mass Selection Form with your Scripture, music, lector, gift bearer, and other liturgical selections in consultation with the parish.
The Catholic Funeral Rites
The Order of Christian Funerals traditionally includes three principal moments of prayer and remembrance.
Vigil for the Deceased
The Vigil normally takes place before the Funeral Mass, often at the funeral home. Family and friends gather in prayer to hear Scripture, offer intercessions, and pray for the deceased.
Funeral Mass
The Funeral Mass is the central celebration of the Catholic Funeral Rites. Through Scripture, prayer, the Eucharist, sacred music, and the Final Commendation, the Church entrusts the deceased to God.
Rite of Committal
The Rite of Committal normally takes place at the cemetery or mausoleum and concludes the Catholic Funeral Rites with prayer as the deceased is laid to rest.

One family member or friend may be permitted to offer brief Words of Remembrance during the Funeral Liturgy. These remarks should reflect the life of the deceased in the light of faith and should normally be limited to approximately three to four minutes.
